Recruitment to Training Posts takes place annually through the web-based recruitment website RCOG OBS JOBS with online registration which has been developed by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). All Deaneries in England and Wales are involved in the process. Recruitment to the Training Programme in 2009 took place between January and March. There were only posts available at ST1 level with no FTSTA posts. Recruitment to the Training Programme for 2010 will again take place through the ObsJobs recruitment system with the following provisional time line: Monday 7th December 2009 - ObsJobs site opens for applications Monday 21st December 2009 - ObsJobs site closes for applications Monday 8th & Tuesday 9th February 2010 - ST1 interviews to be held at the Severn Deanery Wednesday 10th March 2010 - First round of offers via ObsJobs system Friday 9th April 2010 - ST Offers Completed Details will be available on the Severn Deanery website. Only ST1 posts will be available in 2010 in the Severn Deanery. Recruitment to Subspeciality Training posts takes place when vacancies arise. These are advertised nationally. See under Advanced Training for more details. LAT vacancies are advertised nationally as they arise throughout the year.
-oOo- Resource on MMC application and interview preparation for junior doctors. It is particularly directed at Foundation trainees, Current CMT ( future CT/CST) and ST level trainee doctors. It has information rich pages on questions in the application form and those asked at interviews. It also provides tips to answer these questions. A very thoughtful resource section as well.
What more, the resources are entirely FREE and there is no need to even register. They do offer a paid service, but it is upto the discretion of the traineees. This is particularly useful as all the information and advice is available in one site.
